How does one log into the system?

I followed the quick start instruction including providing the iso with the meta-data and user-data files but I cannot log into the system with the password provided in the user-data file. The hostname gets set correctly to "atomic" according to the meta-data file but I tried logging in as "root" and "fedora" with the provided password but get rejected. What am I doing wrong?

I was able to login to a virtualbox instance by just supplying a hostname and password (rsa key apparently is optional, I comment-out those lines), based on his tutorial: https://www.technovelty.org//linux/running-cloud-images-locally.html. So not as difficult or mysterious as implied!

Can you post your user-data file? One of the things that caught me was not iterating the meta-data file everytime I was testing a change. If the instance-id doesn't change, then cloud-init won't treat this as a first boot of the instance. Changes that cloud-init would normally make (useradds, password changes, etc) only run on first boot.

You can also check out this blog post about getting cloud-init auth working. I wrote it b/c I was having some issues and wanted to work through the process.

I also found this comment in another thread, which is very bare bones and would get SSH key auth working for the fedora user. http://ask.projectatomic.io/en/question/133/currentsupported-atomic-isoimage-etc/?answer=134#post-id-134
