--pid=host doesnt work

Hi All I am newbie in docker. I am trying "sudo docker --pid=host ouruser/vavra vim test " and error message appear: ouruser/vavra # is my image where is vim command test # I am trying open file "test" by vim command from image ouruser/vavra

flag provided but not defined: --pid

docker version: Docker version 1.8.2, build bb472f0/1.8.2

Could you pls help me how solve this issue?

You haven't provided a command to docker, so --pid isn't a valid flag to the "top level" docker command.

[centos@centatomic-001 ~]$ sudo docker run --pid=host fedora /bin/echo "Hello World"

Your command line should look more like the one above to run your test.

What are you trying to accomplish by running this VIm container in the same PID namespace as the host? The PID namespace is usually only changed if you have a container that needs to interact with processes on the host, like strace or gdb, not editors.
