Deploying directly onto sd card with rpm-ostree

I'd like to be able to directly install an Atomic Host (for example Fedora Atomic) to an sd card, so I can boot it from a NUC that uses sd cards as primary storage. This is especially important for me because the NUC does not seem to want to boot from usb media, meaning I can't use the installer right now.

So far I haven't really found any solutions and would be grateful for any pointers.

If Anaconda supports it, it should be supported by the "rpmostreepayload" too.

But here your question is more about starting the installer itself?

So...it should likely be possible to "flash" the SD card from outside the system itself. It might be possible to plug it into a desktop system and run the anaconda GUI there. Alternatively, it is possible to do everything that Anaconda does from the command line, it's just not the default and a bit awkward. This problem domain itself isn't specific to rpm-ostree, just I guess more desirable for smaller systems.
