Expressing requirements of the host OS

How can one express requirements of the host OS? My particular use case is that my privileged container needs to ensure that the version of docker running on the host meets a minimum version requirement. It could also be ensuring that a specific kernel version is met. Should the entrypoint just validate minimum requirements and exit if they're not met?

At the moment I think that's the best one can do, yeah.

At present the atomic command doesn't load any metadata until the image is downloaded - there's been some investigation of changing this, but it's still outstanding work to do in the atomic command.
